Publication Ethics
Nexus of Learning: Journal of Education and Pedagogy is a peer-reviewed academic journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. This ethical statement follows the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. Duties of Authors
- Authors must ensure that their manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.
- Authors must properly cite the work of others and avoid any form of plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
- All persons who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as co-authors.
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence their work.
- When authors discover a significant error in their published work, they must notify the editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
2. Duties of Editors
- Editors are responsible for deciding which articles will be published based on academic merit and relevance.
- Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased review process, maintaining confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
- Editors must not have any conflict of interest with respect to the articles they handle.
- Editors should act promptly if ethical complaints are raised, following COPE’s flowcharts for ethical issues.
3. Duties of Reviewers
- Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.
- Reviewers must keep all information regarding manuscripts confidential.
- Reviews should be objective, with clear arguments supporting their assessments.
- Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
4. Duties of Publisher
- The publisher ensures that all stages of publication are conducted ethically and transparently.
- The publisher supports editors, reviewers, and authors in following ethical best practices.
- In cases of proven misconduct, the publisher will publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies as needed.
